Sheldon Conrich is a 26 year old professional musician from London. He is a guitarist, pianist, songwriter, guitar teacher and session musician.
Sheldon started showing his interest in music at the age of 7 where he started playing piano. By 9 he had started the classical guitar and was making strides in development both in technique and his fine tuned ear picking up melodies and reproducing almost full songs.
By the age of 17 Sheldon had completed all his classical guitar grades under the tutorage of Andrew Keeping and had racked up a feast of performance credits such as performing the 'Pavane' at the Purcell Room with the Watford guitar Ensemble led by Jonathan Preiss, playing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the Wired for sound project and touring Prague twice with the Hillside school orchestra project.
At 17 and feeling there was more to playing then just classical guitar Sheldon decided to branch out studying a host of different genres including Jazz, Funk, Blues, Rock, Latin, Reggae, and others. It was at this point he was accepted into the prestigious Paul McCartney Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) where he met likeminded musicians and many who are currently in the music industry today. By 2005 he was starting to find his feet as a writer and producer having some small success with the business venture Shelly Shell productions writing for TV, film and commercial and both writing and producing for up and coming artists Martin Kaye, Barney Ashworth, Sara Jorge and Marcus John.
In the meantime with these new styles under his belt Sheldon formed the 'Wood Jazz Duo' originally with singer/songwriter Yamit Mamo and later with session singer Ida Wennevold. Here Sheldon was playing Jazz standards in venues all over London for corporate events, weddings, private parties and charity events. His blend of relaxed mellow jazz using modern songs went down a storm and saw him performing at the Park Lane Hotel, The Grosvenor Casino London Connoisseur and the Dyrham Park golf Club to name but a few.
From this Sheldon moved to session work playing on a number of artist's albums and most notably Gwen Stefani's 2004 debut album 'Love, Angel, Music, Baby' in which he featured on the track 'Luxurious' playing keyboards.
Since then Sheldon has juggled his time between teaching guitar around the Hertfordshire area and continuing the session work. He sessioned for the musical 'Zanna don't' which lead to performing at West End Live. From there he was hired to tour with Louise Setara on the 'Live in your lounge' tour. And he now currently plays guitar and ukulele for Island Record artist Lucinda Belle in the Lucinda Belle Orchestra.
Sheldon is also a published songwriter with Freeplay Music and Carlin Music.
